Warning Signs, Dexter, Sylvia/Miguel (prompt 5)

All three Prado brothers had courted Sylvia, once. Oscar was too dissolute--charming, yes, but without plans or ambition. Not someone to support a family. Ramon had the drive Oscar lacked, but too much of it, untempered by kindness. He was like her father, ready to protect her from the world but not from himself.

In Miguel, she thought she’d found the perfect balance, someone who could channel his anger into his work and bring only tenderness home. Now, as his hours grow later and his fuse shorter, she wishes she’d seen his brothers as the warning that they were.

Thanks! She's one of my favorite minor characters--I was always bummed they felt a need to write her off the show along with Miguel.
