WARNING: Robot/Human Xenophilia ahead

It weird how he’s not at all conscious of the scars that mark his body until he’s with Tracks. But the Autobot is so gorgeous and perfect that he can’t help but be painfully aware of each scar or bruise or cut. Tracks never says anything--practically worships his body when they’re alone, in fact--but he still knows how flawed he is next to the gorgeous mech.

“I can almost hear you thinking.” Tracks runs a finger down the line of a scar on his back.

“It’s nothing.”

“I doubt that.” He traced the scar again. “Tell me about this one.”

Oh damn, yes!

Wallace sighed. "Dear Eli, would you pretty please go to the prom with me?"

Weevil grinned and slapped his shoulder. "Why, yes, I would."

Madarame turned toward Kasukabe. They were alone in the club room, but only because Kousaka had stepped out.

"What do you want?" he asked her bluntly.

She leaned forward, her hair nearly brushing his shoulder, and whispered into his right ear. Madarame blinked. She was saying something about yet another problem she was having with Kousaka, but all Madarame could think about was the way his entire right side seemed to be tingling.

He opened his mouth but all that came out was "Uh..."

That settled it. Three-dimensional women definitely did have certain advantages.

Michi should have known better than to reach out for Junko. She should have known better than to need touch.

"Nothing matters," Junko murmured as Michi kissed her.

How many times had she heard that word, "nothing." It was the only word left to them. Still she held Junko, caressed her face, tried to tell her pretty lies as Junko looked toward the blank wall.

Michi was losing her, and was losing herself. There were too many endings, too much cold.

"Touch me," she said to Junko, urgently, but Junko only closed her eyes and brought them both to darkness.

Absolutely heart-breaking. ;_; Superbly done.

It starts with small things: a flicker of a smile, barely seen. A touch lasting a moment longer than needed.

Mirialyn's smile, of course, Mirialyn's touch. Alina has better control. She casts her eyes down and leans away.

Any woman of the Dominion would take the rebuke in the silence it was offered, but Mirialyn is of the north and knows no subtlety. She tightens her grip, asks why.

"We are not wives together," Alina tells her finally, words too obvious to be spoken.

"No," Mirialyn agrees. She does not move her hand. "But I thought we might be friends."

Ava lets the sheet slip, just so, off her hip and backcombs her fingers through sweaty hair. She's the perfect image of a wanton, spent woman, irresistible in tangled linens and slightly smeared lipstick.

Reagan doesn't notice. Or, if she does, she doesn't appreciate it.

Amounts to the same thing.

Reagan checks her phone. She's more distracted than ever since the baby. It's ridiculous.

"Your boss let you go early," Ava says.

Nodding, Reagan squeezes Ava's shoulder.

"Kiss me, or --"

She doesn't have to finish. Reagan's in her arms, sweet heavy kiss drowning her. Everything's as it should be.

Two wrinkle-lined faces stared down at Iroh when he opened his eyes. It was often like this after time spent wandering the spirit world--the world of the body blurred, lacked depth--but this time the doubling did not resolve itself when he blinked.

"You cannot keep doing this," said Lo.

"You will exhaust yourself," said Li.

"Your nation needs you." Lo extended a closed hand.

Li matched her sister's gesture. "Your son calls."

As one, they upturned their fists, opened their fingers. Lo's held a single white lotus tile; Li's were empty.

"Which will you choose?" they asked together.

Lu Ten still cries in Iroh's dreams. The thin, childish voice winds through his sleep, now whispering, now so loud Iroh wonders it does not wake the palace.

Once he would have followed the threads of sound down, down, down. Dreams are a border between matter and spirit. Once he would have passed through.

Now, when the cries come, he forces himself upward. He rises. He brews tea. The ritual actions are calming. The liquid's surface is a mirror, but a prosaic one; it shows no ghosts, only Iroh's own tired eyes.

He drinks, and it holds sleep at bay.

Wow, these are wonderful. A great insight into Iroh and what pulls him, and how he has his own sadness.

These days, when Asami looks out of the window at night, he wonders where Takaba is. If Takaba's safe, out there.

He's got people discretely watching Takaba's apartment, of course; he'd be a fool not to, but Takaba's made it a game to try and avoid them (since unlike Asami, Takaba is a fool) and so Asami can never be entirely sure of anything they report to him.

Forcing Takaba to be sensible and move in with him would be much more convenient. Takaba would make a fuss, no doubt, but Takaba makes a fuss about nearly everything Asami does.

"Knife wound," Van says, all brazen and proud, like almost getting gutted is something to be fucking proud of (well, the 'almost' part, maybe). "Hurt like a bitch."

Deaq shakes his head, grin as cocky as Van, because in many ways (he supposes) he is as cocky as Van, especially when it comes to the job and Billie and this thing with Van they never really talk about because they're both completely straight, normal guys (who happen to have sex with each other rather too often). "Bet it's just from when you needed to get your appendix out or something."

There are rather a lot of people who'd have liked to be Director of Research at GlobalDynamics, and looking at his Inbox, Nathan rather suspects he's gotten a message to congratulate him on his appointment from at least half of them.

Most messages, he deletes unread. He can afford to, now.

A few, he replies to with a standard, more elaborate version of 'thank you'.

'Congratulations on ruining your life,' Henry's written, along with other, even less flattering comments, ending with an 'I hope you'll be happy' that sounds mostly sarcastic.

'Congratulations on losing your job,' Nathan writes back. 'Again.'

"Think of it as a present, Ginji-kun," Akabane said, tone indulgent. "After all, we are friends, aren't we?"

"Y-yes?" Ginji wasn't so sure that they were friends, actually, but he knew he didn't want to be enemies with someone like Akabane.

Silence. "And do you like the present I got for you, Ginji-kun?" Akabane asked at last, a note of mild rebuke in his voice. "I tried very hard to make sure it was someone you wouldn't like."

"Oh. That was very uh thoughtful of you, Akabane-san."

Akabane smiled. "You are very welcome, Ginji-kun."

"I uh need to go now."
